Privacy policy
Cents and Code is the data controller for this site. The company details are under Who runs Cents and Code at the end of this page. If you have a question about your data, write to [email protected].
What we collect
Almost nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no advertising or tracking cookies on centsandcode.com.
- The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are saved only in your own browser's local storage, so they're still there when you come back. They are never sent to us. Press "Reset to U.S. averages" or clear this site's data to remove them.
- Hosting and security. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and block attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you across other sites.
Downloads and purchases (Payhip)
The free template and the paid tools are sold and delivered by Payhip. When you press a download or buy button, Payhip's checkout opens. Payhip and its payment processors collect what they need to complete the order (such as your email address and payment details) under Payhip's own Privacy and Cookies Policy. We receive your name, email address and what you bought, so we can deliver files and answer support questions. We never see your full card details. We don't add anyone to a mailing list without asking first.
YouTube
Our videos live on YouTube. This site doesn't embed YouTube players; it links to them. Once you're on YouTube, Google's privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and you can object to how it's used. Email us and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to a data protection authority: the one where you live, or the one where we are established (listed under Who runs Cents and Code).
Emails
We only send newsletters to people who tick the box at checkout. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We don't sell or share personal data for advertising.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

Education, not advice
Cents and Code, including our videos, this website, the calculator and the template, is for general education only. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and we are not licensed financial advisers. Watching a video or using the calculator doesn't create any adviser relationship. Think about your own situation, and talk to a qualified professional before making a big decision.
Numbers and dates
Example figures are U.S. averages from the sources named next to them, as of the dates shown. Rates, prices and plans change often, so check current offers before you act. The calculator gives simple estimates using the same formulas as the videos; your real results will differ.
Growth illustrations
Figures like "$279 a month for 20 years at 7%" assume a steady average return to show how compounding works. They are not predictions or guarantees. Investments can lose value.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to analyze budgets, draft scripts, narrate (an AI voice) and generate some images. We check every number against its original source before publishing, but mistakes can still happen. If you find one, email [email protected] and we'll correct it in the pinned comment and the video description.
Companies we mention
When we name a bank, insurer or phone plan, it's an example of a current offer, not an endorsement. We aren't paid by any company we mention. If a video is ever sponsored or uses affiliate links, it will say so clearly in the video and its description.

We link to sources and services we don't control. Their content and policies are their own.
Refunds
Our tools are digital downloads. At checkout you agree that the download starts right away, and you acknowledge that this ends the 14-day right of withdrawal that EU and UK law gives for distance purchases. Because of that, we don't offer refunds for change of mind.
If a file doesn't work, is damaged, or you can't download it, email [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase with your order email. We'll fix the problem or refund you in full.
None of this limits any rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
